The Thunderbird is operated by Jeff Markland. The boat runs out of Newport Landing in Newport Beach, California.
Jeffs History: I moved to California a year and a half out of highschool. Had no leads, but knew I loved fishing. I got a chance to come pinhead on the Nautilus. Quickly afterwards, I got a job on the Ultra. The following season I started working on the Patriot. The Patriot was my home for almost 10 years. In 2009 I got my license. I was a relief captain on the Patriot, and was on the Amigo commercial fishing squid. The Thunderbird was offered to me in 2011, and the rest is history.
